European Roundtable on the Role of Behaviour for Net-Zero

UK Science and Innovation Network

Challenge

The UK Science and Innovation Network (FCDO), in collaboration with the Swedish Climate Policy Council and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy, tasked Behaven with organising a roundtable discussion between policy, industry and academic experts on the role of behaviour change in achieving net-zero emissions.

Solution

The first European Roundtable on the Role of Behaviour for Net-Zero took place in May 2022, thanks to Behaven's ability to define the right content, source the best experts, and manage a complex stakeholder set. It marked the beginning of a cross-sector and transdisciplinary collaboration that will aid in behaviour change and effectively support the net-zero transition.

Results

More than 50 selected experts from all over Europe took part in the roundtable. They all demonstrated a strong appetite for concrete actions to scale up the use of behavioural science as a way to support the net-zero transition, starting with a report that was produced following the roundtable discussions. It can be accessed here.
